With school back in session and work back in the office, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed especially after being quarantined for MONTHS. Sometimes we feel the need to do everything all at once, but it is important to take a step back to take care of ourselves. Here are a few ways to practice self-care in order to make you feel FOXY again!
1. Press the Reset Button
We get it bae, disconnecting and taking time away from work can almost seemimpossible.However, adding a day (...or two) off to your calendar and giving yourself space to relax is SOOO worth it! Not only will taking time off make you feel better, but it will also improve the quality of your work as well. It’s kind of like pressing the reset button on your hairdryer when it’s been overworked. Once that little red button is pressed, then *POOF* it starts working again like magic!
2. Reflect on 3 Positive Things That Happened Today
Carve out some time in the evenings to reflect on your day! Writing down the three best things that happened that day will put you in a state of appreciation and gratitude. We tend to focus on the negatives more often than the positives, which can be such a downer! Instead of centering your attention on how “awful” your day was, take a more positive approach and ask yourself, “how could I have improved my day?” Then, do better tomorrow :)
3. Don’t Hate, Celebrate!
Celebrate your accomplishments! Whether you received a promotion at work or simply just got out of bed today, every achievement of yours deserves a celebration! Rewarding yourself could come in many different forms, such as going on a shopping spree, getting drinks with friends, or just having down time! A celebration does not require you to splurge all your money, unless you want to!
4. Spend Time With Your Besties
There’s NOTHING better than going home to chill out after a long, stressful day. However, it’s important to take time out of your busy schedule for your family and besties! Planning a family dinner or a shopping day with friends is a must! Surrounding yourself with the people you love will result in a much needed boost in your mood. After all, what are besties for!?
5. Take Care Of Yourself
We often find ourselves constantly looking after others and forgetting to take care of ourselves! Put yourself first for a change and make your mental and physical health a priority. Go to the gym, read something inspirational, or put on a hair mask! There are numerous ways to make yourself feel special and cared for.
